The Noguchi Museum (the studio and garden of Japanese-American sculptor Isamu Noguchi) is on the same street as Socrates Sculpture Park. Also a lovely place to visit.

Rosa, the pictures of the park in Long Island City are great. I use to live in Astoria. My middle son lives there now. It's been so long since I have been there. Is it near Hells Gate?
ReplyDeleteWe use to call it Hells Gate Park.

P.S. My family has been in NY since 1640. We are Dutch and had land grants from Holland.
ReplyDeleteJust love all of your work,
Melanie
Melanie, thanks for your kind comments. That's really interesting, I had never heard of Hells Gate before, but yes, that is nearby. I'm glad to learn some NY history from a *real* New Yorker!
ReplyDeleteThese shots are great Rosa - I need to get over there to see these pieces!
ReplyDeleteFascinating to read about Melanie's history above, too! My grandfather's roots are also dutch, NY and I've been wanting to trace them back. She's inspiring me to get that ball rolling!!
Cool, thanks for visiting Karin!
